The site is equipped with a wireless Vantage Pro+ Weather Station, manufactured in the USA by Davis Instruments and delivered by EkoPower in the Netherlands. It is installed in the dunes of the French Atlantic Coast between Grayan-et-l'Hopital and Montalivet in the northern Medoc, and is operated remotely from The Netherlands. The first measurements have started in April 2002 and more systematic data collection takes place since february 2003; so it will take a while before some meaningful historic meteorological  information is available. It is the intention to update the current weather data every hour, seven days a week. During maintenance, the update frequencies may vary slightly from day to day. The current incarnation of the site is just a first attempt and is mainly implemented to check the feasibility of the technology and the usefulness of the measured data.
